Hebrews 2:18
"For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted."
When you need someone to work on something that is broken, you want a qualified technician who knows what they are doing. When I go to get my car worked on, I look for the badge on the mechanic's uniform that shows they are a qualified technician. Why do we look for someone who is a qualified technician? Because we want someone who has been trained to deal with our problems because they will know best how to fix and repair what is wrong.
When you need someone to help you through suffering, you need to look no further than Jesus Christ. The reason you need to look no further is because He is a qualified technician in dealing with suffering. The verse above says, "...he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted." There are several reasons why Jesus Christ is the qualified technician to deal with your unique situation.
First, Jesus is qualified because He is God. This alone should be good enough for anyone. John 1:1 says, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." Jesus didn't become God, but He has always been God. Jesus being God has the power and wherewithal to deal with any type of suffering. However unique your suffering may be, Jesus has the power to deal with it.
Second, Jesus is qualified because He has suffered. Hebrews 4:15 says, "For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin." Notice that Jesus has been touched by every point a person could be tempted or tested. In other words, there is nothing you can go through that Jesus doesn't understand. Oftentimes, you will hear a person say to someone trying to help them, "You just don't understand." Nobody can say that to Christ for He has been touched in every possible way a person can be tempted or tested. That means He completely understands what you are going through.
Third, Jesus is qualified because He made you. Revelation 4:11 says, "Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things..." Who better knows what you need than the One Who made you? Friend, God knows you inside and out. He knows exactly what you need because He made you. He doesn't have to go to a training class to understand your needs, for He is the One Who made you and understands how you work and how you feel.
Whenever going through suffering, always remember that the most qualified technician to help you in suffering is Jesus Christ. Look no further! There is nothing wrong with trying to get help from your spiritual leader, but Jesus Christ is The Qualified Technician to deal with suffering. Go to Him and ask for His help, for He not only cares for you, but will also help you as you go through each phase of suffering.
