Sunday, 10/27/13 Ps 139:2 Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. If this verse be true, the only thing standing between you and a clean slate with God is
pride: an unwillingness to own up to what He says is sin. Now, whatcha gonna do about that?? Nah 1:2 God is jealous, and the Lord revengeth; the Lord revengeth, and is furious; the Lord will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies. God’s super-negative, fear inspiring side is reserved for His adversaries: those who want to fight His plans, and for His enemies: those who hate Him. Dear weak and flailing Christian, trying and failing, over and over...His grace and mercy are for you. Rebellious child of God, thumbing your nose at Him: be careful...you’re approaching the line.
Monday, 10/28/13 Rom 5:10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son... Christ, 1Loved His enemies, 2Came TO His enemies, and 3Met His enemies needs. Most of us, at best, ignore those who don’t like us. Luke 2:34 And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother...(Yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also,) that the thoughts of many hearts shall be revealed. Probably many of us, when hard times come, wonder if God is “mad at us” or is “getting even.” Here, Simeon told Mary she’d have deep heartaches for the purpose of demonstrating the thoughts of others. We know she was accused of premarital impurity. Perhaps your situation isn’t so much of God “getting” you as much as it is God trusting you to be able to take it. The sinners are gonna sin...maybe God thought you could handle them sinning against you. Ps 146:3 Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help. One of the main problems with mankind is that we try to fill humongous spiritual holes in our lives with man-sized solutions. We long for a deep relationship with our God and we try to fill that void with illicit sex, money, pleasure, alcohol, laughter, or diversion. Look at your own life and see how often that is true. V5 says Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help.
Tuesday, 10/29/13 Acts 20:20 And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publicly and from house to house. A good preacher keeps back nothing that is profitable even if it’s not palatable. But his preaching is worthless without submissive and obedient ears. Mal 3:7-8 Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith the Lord of hosts. But ye said, Wherein shall we return? Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me... How do we get right with God? By getting our wallet right. Why does God go there? 1Getting your money right with God’s word shows the sincerity of your repentance. 2Getting your money right is bringing into submission the biggest idol god in our world. 3Where your treasure is, your heart is.
Wednesday, 10/30/13 Acts 21:9 And the same man had four daughters, virgins, which did prophesy. Young ladies should be soul winners and wise in spiritual matters too. Ps 145:4 One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts. Adults, do our children, students, pupils, young friends ever hear us talk about what God has done in our lives?
Thursday, 10/31/13 Acts 27:21 But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss. No one ever likes to hear, “I told you so” nor does it ever help a situation. Don’t bring that into your relationships. Matt 27:3 Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the 30 pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders. Almost never can we undo sins once they’re committed. We can’t un-abort the baby; we can’t un-drink the booze; we can’t re-purify our morals, erase the cruel words, or recontact the lost sinner....Live so as to minimize your regrets. Live now like you will wish you had.
Friday, 11/1/13 Ps 147:6 The Lord lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground. Pick your adjective and thereby pick your verb. Ps 149:2 Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King. Do you fit this verse? If not, what is hindering you, or what is wrong? Solve the mystery, and reap the benefits.
Saturday, 11/2/13 Matt 6:3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy rand hand doeth. Definitions: Tithe: Mandated to God, 10% of gross income, i.e. first fruits, brought to house of God, i.e. general church budget offering / Offering: voluntary gifts to God, thru the church / alms: secret giving to another. Acts 26:2 I think myself happy, king Agrippa, because I shall answer for myself this day before thee touching all the things whereof I am accused by the Jews. Could you answer questions re: your faith? “What evidence do you know for the resurrection?” What proof is there that the Bible was not written by man?” “You believe in Creation? That’s funny!! Why??” “Show me where it says that I’ll be judged by God.” “Why do you believe that marriage is between 1 man and 1 woman, for life?”
Thoughts from some others:
Acts 23:27b ...and rescued him, having understood that he was a Roman. Politicians have not changed: they will lie and distort the truth to protect and make themselves look good. Human nature is what it is, and even we aren’t exempt, so we must be on guard.
Ps 27:2 Let another man praise thee and not thine own mouth; a stranger and not thine own lips. We must be careful about boasting and tooting our own horn. Let God and others brag on us.
Gen 32:26 And he said, let me go for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me. Until we get in a real crisis and are scared to death, we will never have such an experience with God. You are never the same after that.
Rev 22:20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. He is coming soon. Are you ready for His return? Are you ready for judgment?
Ps 139:2 ...thou understandest my thought afar off. No matter how afar off we are, we are always within the reach of God’s grace.
Pro 28:4 They that forsake the law praise the wicked: but such as keep the law contend with them. Where do you and I fit into this picture? Do we praise the wicked or contend with them? If we stand with the LAW contention will arise.
Ps 106:41 and he gave them into the hand of the heathen: and they that hated them ruled over them. As children of God, we need to work to please Him and make sure that we avoid that which provokes Him. If not careful, we could find ourselves ruled by those who hate us and our God.
Pro 30:12 There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness. This is the condition of our world and especially America. How long will a holy God put up with it?
Ex 15:38 Egypt was glad when they departed... Like Egypt of the OT, the world hates our presence and wants us gone, but after the Rapture, they will miss us and the blessings the Holy Spirit influence and presence that we bring.
