Tuesday, 7/12/16 Ps 51:1-14 is a long confession of sin. V15, O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth
shall shew forth thy praise. After clearing the sin, praise comes forth
(because the heart isn’t filled with garbage anymore). Lesson: the amount of
vocal praise is in inverse proportion to the amount of sin. Ps
65:5, By terrible things in righteousness
wilt thou answer us, O God of our salvation... If you bring your burdens,
your heartbreaks, problems to God, don’t be surprised if He puts His finger
right on the part of YOU that He wants fixed...your sin, your attitude, your
temper... LONG before He’ll step in and work on the others involved in your
situation.
Wednesday,
7/13/16 Ps 51:3, For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.
On whose sin do you focus more of your attention and efforts: yours? Or the
sins of those around you (spouse, kids, peers, leaders)? James
3:10-11, Out of the same mouth proceedeth
blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. Doth a
fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter? If you’re
carrying a cup of sweet liquid, and I
jostle you, and you spill, what comes out? Something sweet, right? What if I
jostle your spirit, or antagonize you: what’ll come out?
Thursday,
7/14/16 Ps 66:16, Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath
done for my soul. Have you ever called someone on the phone to share a
blessing? How about asking to testify in SS or church? Ask the Holy Spirit how often you share
blessings vs. how often you share gossip. Jon 1:10, Then were the men exceedingly afraid, and said unto him, Why hast thou
done this? For the men knew that he fled from the presence of the Lord, because
he had told them. It would be wise to keep some distance from someone that
you know is running from God. Love them, but dont’ socialize with them: see 1
Cor 5:11.
Friday, 7/15/16 Pro 13:18, Poverty and shame shall be to him that refuseth instruction: but he
that regardeth reproof shall be honored. Veteran Christian: are you still
learning? Or, do you “know it all”? Jon 1:2 & 3:5, Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and
cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me. So the people of Nineveh believed God, and
proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the
least of them. Though very wicked and evil, the only thing keeping these
people from salvation was an obedient soul winner. How long has it been since
you...?
Monday, 7/18/16 Ezra 7:23, Whatsoever is commanded by the God of heaven, let it be diligently done
for the house of the God of heaven: for why should there be wrath against the
realm of the king and his sons? Oh that we’d have as much sense as this
unsaved king re: the house of God.
Tuesday, 7/19/16 Exo 23:4, If
thou meet thine enemy’s ox or his ass going astray, thou shalt surely bring it
back again. Don’t do what you want to do, or even what you think might be
acceptable to observers; do what you’re supposed to do. Do what the best
Christian that you know would do. 2 Tim 4:10, For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is
departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia. Only Luke
is with me... I must do my assigned duties in the Christian life and MORE because it’s a war: some
compatriots will be casualties, POWs, or deserters so I have to do their job
too. Get busy(ier)!!
