Sunday, 10/18/15 Acts
26:20, But shewed...to the Gentiles, that
they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet (appropriate) for repentance. What works that are
appropriate for repentance have you done this week? Is anyone living closer to
God because you lived another 7 days? John
1:9, That was the true Light, which
lighteth every man that cometh into the world. Every human has this light
from Christ, PLUS the witness of the heavens, PLUS the Bible in their hearts,
PLUS their conscience, PLUS the written word of God, and more, so those who go
to Hell will be “without excuse.” Go
to Hell if you want to, but it’ll be your own fault...ONLY your fault. If you
don’t know for sure that you’re on your way to Heaven, message me.
Tuesday, 10/20/15 Ps
119:28, My soul melteth for heaviness:
strengthen thou me according to thy word. Depression is a real affliction
and many believers battle and endure it. (The Bible word is “heaviness.” Even
the Lord had it in Matt 26.) Whatever else you use, don’t neglect to add the
Word of God to your treatments. John
3:18, He that believeth on [Jesus] is not
condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already. Everyone is
either currently condemned or not condemned. There is no middle ground, no
“working on it” or “getting there.” So, in which group are you?
Wednesday, 10/21/15 Who
really dislikes or hates you? What have you done for them recently? Rom 12:20, Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him;
if he thirst, give him to drink... It’s a command... John 4:11, The woman said unto [Jesus], Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and
the well is deep: from when then hast thou that living water? Praise the
Lord that we don’t have to understand salvation in order to get salvation!!
Going to Heaven is a gift to be received, not a wage to be earned, a reward to
be achieved, or a treasure to be sought for. Do YOU know, 100% for sure, that
you’ll go to Heaven? If not please message me. If you do, ask someone around
you if they know they’re going.
Thursday, 10/22/15 Ps
52:1, Why boasteth thyself in mischief, O
mighty man? the goodness of God endureth continually. 1Man’s
worst efforts do not dent God’s goodness in the least. 2Discipline
your mind to focus on His enduring goodness and not man’s transitory
mischief. 3Enduring the temporary bad is easier when you remember
that you’ll live with the eternal good forever. Heb
8:11, And they shall not teach every man
his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall
know me, from the least to the greatest. What a day that will be!!
Honestly, do you want to KNOW God? Or, is Jesus just a fire insurance Salesman
to you? A relationship with Him is fostered by the same methods that a
relationship is grown with a sweetheart. Try it.
Friday, 10/23/15 What are
you good at? In what area are you smart? Rom 12:16c, Be not wise in your own conceits. Don’t think that your expertise
makes you one whit better than anyone else. Everyone knows something that don’t
and has a skill that you don’t, so stay (or get) humble. Heb 11:6, ...for he that cometh to God must believe that he is and that he is a
rewarder of them that seek him. When I see a verse like this, it makes me
pray that I’ll be such a person. (Or, ones like Ps 119:92, Unless thy law had been my delights, I should then have perished in
mine affliction. Or, Pro 21:21, He
that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and
honor.) Make your Bible time interactive...we’re to read the Bible, not as
a textbook that simply informs us, but so It can point things out for us to
change. Here’s the lesson for today:
pray before your Bible reading and about your Bible reading.
Saturday, 10/24/15 Gen
5:1, In the day that God created man, in
the likeness of God made he him. How much of God’s likeness do you still
have? Are you satisfied with that amount? What are you doing to raise it? Why are we
supposed to go to church? It’s a place to learn of God; to return God’s money;
to fellowship with like minded people...all those are true. Heb 10:24-25, And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is;
but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
Notice carefully: “CONSIDER ONE ANOTHER”
and “EXHORTING ONE ANOTHER” and the
implied “PROVOKE ONE ANOTHER.” God
seems to say that our presence at church is mainly for the sake of others at
church, so to be missing is hurting others. I must confess, I read an article
about this and was greatly convicted: my attendance record has been slipping of
late. Most of the problem has been related to demands of work and school (and
therefore beyond my control), but not all of it...some of it has been laziness,
which is simply SELFISHNESS. I am going on record as rededicating myself to a
better attendance record...will you join me? As much as possible, Sunday
morning, Sunday night, Wednesday night...unless providentially hindered...who’s
with me?

Miscellaneous thoughts from others:
- No relationship is all sunshine,
but two people can share the same umbrella and survive the storm together.
- The first to apologize is brave,
the first to forgive is bold, and the first to forget is blessed.
- Count your blessings; your
complaints count themselves.
- Isn't it amazing that we have
shed so few tears for America, when we have so much to weep over?
- The church that becomes the
empathetic community that God demands offers a wonderful refuge for those with
broken minds... One of the hardest but most necessary calls on the church of
Jesus Christ is to step up and be part of the social support system of the
mentally ill.
- If you have no reason to
celebrate today, then celebrate with others in their reason. Either way, you
get to celebrate! In so doing, your own reason will sneak up behind you and
surprise you!
- Setbacks are God's little way of
slowing us down when we get too far ahead of Him. He's not in a hurry. Nowhere
does the Bible say to "run with God." He wants us to walk with Him!
- In life, we often expect things
to remain secure. Then we comfort ourselves with a false sense of security.
Even a brand new car needs maintenance. And as it gets older it will need more
and more maintenance. If we use and abuse relationships without regular
maintenance, we can be assured that catastrophic consequences are just a matter
of time.
- The real walk of shame is when
you take all of the cups and plates and silverware that you’ve accumulated in
your room back to the kitchen...
- When I tell you, “It’s made with
love” I really mean that I licked the spoon and kept on using it.
- You can’t shack up with the Devil
and expect the Lord to pay the rent!!
- No one in history has ever choked
to death from swallowing their pride.
- It took 2 to get married, but it
takes 3 to stay married. Keep God in your marriage.
- God made man in His image. Sadly,
however, many believers worship a god whom they have created in their image!
- If I'm a soldier of an army whose
Captain hung on a tree, How could I wish some easy life for me?

Bible thoughts from
some others:
- It's
quite fitting that I read this passage on a Sunday morning! A dose of good
preaching [Sunday am, pm, midweek] will cure your stinkin' thinkin'! For full clarity,
read Psalms 73. V3, For I was envious at
the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked... V17, ...until I went into the sanctuary of God; then
understood I their end.
- Ps 32:8, I
will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide
thee with mine eye. We are never too old or so smart that we do not need
instruction from God’s word to keep us on the right way and the constant
guiding eye of the Holy Spirit.
- Ps 33:11, The
counsel of the Lord standeth forever, the thoughts of his heart to all
generations. Try as they might to change, alter, discredit, and destroy
God’s word, it is still trustworthy and true. We’d better wake up, read, and
heed it. It’s the mind and will of God for us and our world.
- Bible thoughts! Ps 21:2, Thou hast given him his heart's desire, and hast not withholden the
request of his lips. Selah. Wow! You think you know how to spoil your kids,
you ought to take lessons from God! He spoils His kids extra! He's so good to
us!
- Pro 20:25, It
is a snare to a man who devoureth that which is holy, and after vows to make
inquiry. That which belongs to god is not be used for personal reasons,
regardless of how we might try to rationalize or try to explain it. It is
robbing God, and is a crime that will be paid for ultimately.
- Ps 38:21, Forsake
me not, O Lord: O my God, be not far from me. Thanks be to God for His Holy
Spirit Who indwells us and never leaves us.
- Pro 23:15, My
son, if thine heart be wise, my heart shall rejoice, even mine. Nothing
quite makes a Dad’s heart fill with joy like a wise son!
