- Tuesday, 9/11/18 Psalm
101:1-2a, I will sing of mercy and
judgment: unto thee, O Lord, will I sing. I will behave myself wisely in a
perfect way. What revival would occur if each of us would resolve to only
worry about what we can control, and then actually control it?
1 Chronicles 28:9, And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the Lord searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever. This is still good advice.

Proverbs 5:11-12a, And thou mourn
at the LAST, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed, and say, How have I
hated instruction... For all of us, tomorrow WILL come, and we WILL live
with the consequences of today’s choices. Is it worth it? In Psalm 102:1-11, David spends 11 verses detailing how
bad he is having it: enemies, health problems, troubles, groaning, feeling lost
and out of place. However, v12: But thou,
O Lord, shalt endure for ever; and thy remembrance unto all generations.
Place God after every “but.” Don’t place another “and”: “and then this
happened...” “and 1 more thing...” It’s
not about you and it’s not about me; it’s not about our comfort or our ease.
It’s about God’s program to redeem fallen man, and if you or I have to endure
some struggles to show a lost and dying world how God’s people handle
difficulties with God at their sides, then we are to suffer in silence. “BUT
GOD...” I’m having it rough, BUT GOD. My
health is poor, BUT GOD. I’m unjustly
persecuted, BUT GOD. Go add a scriptural “but” to your story.
- Thursday, 9/19/18 A new
word for today: 2 Chronicles 6:37, Yet if they BETHINK themselves in the land
whither they are carried captive, and turn and pray unto thee in the land of their
captivity, saying, We have sinned, we have done amiss, and have dealt wickedly...
Go “BETHINK” today. Genesis
22:12, And he said, Lay not thine hand
upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou
fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.
The whole story of Abraham sacrificing Isaac is a picture/type of the Cross:
the Father sacrificing His innocent Son. Then, according to Hebrews 11:19,
Abraham received Isaac “from the dead” a picture of the resurrection. However,
I noticed this in the story: Isaac was not harmed in the slightest: the ram
that was caught in the thicket received all the harm. Likewise, I am not harmed
at all in my salvation: Jesus took all the abuse. I did not have to lift one
single finger to get saved. I did not have to turn over a new leaf, get
baptized, join a church, pay back any debts. No, I simply relied on the
innocent Substitute. Dear friend, QUIT trusting anything that you do to get you
to Heaven. If you have to do ANYTHING, then that means that Christ didn’t do
enough on the Cross. Are you SURE that you’re going to Heaven? Message me, if
you’re not.
- Friday, 9/20/18 2 Peter
2:2, And many shall follow their
pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
Just a thought for each of us to consider:
does anything that I do cause the way of truth to be looked down upon? Genesis 22:1, And it came to pass after these things, that
God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I
am. Testings WILL come from God, guaranteed. However, He has promised to
never leave us, so He’ll be with us, and will usually be
talking/reassuring/guiding us through the temptation. Are you listening? (It’s
hard when everything is collapsing around us, but we must stop, take a breath,
and “hearken.”)

John 1:4, And these things WRITE we unto
you, that your joy may be full. It’s obvious that there is a fullness of
joy that is connected to what is written. So, how’s your Bible life? If you
need help, ask. I’ve got schedules and many other helps. Everything
that is spiritual is NOT good. 1 John
4:1, Beloved, believe not every spirit,
but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone
out into the world. Satan is a MASTER at cloaking poison with sugar.
Sweetness doesn’t always equal goodness. Yes, the Bible is called honey, but it
is also called meat and milk: neither of which are sweet. Sometimes the Bible,
the pastor, and the Spirit are to rebuke and scold. Don’t shun the messenger
because you need a harsh message.
- Sunday, 9/22/18 Santa
Clause is checking his lists; do you need to do some checking? 1 John 2:9, He that saith he is in the light, and hateth
his brother, is in darkness even until now. Is there anyone on your
“naughty” list? Maybe do some real business with God today at church...?? 1 John 4:11, Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also
to love one another. Dear Lord, please help me to be a selfless lover of Your
people; one who is concerned with the long-term good of the ones that I love
and not just the short-term. Help me to sacrifice my comfort for theirs; my
deserved possessions for them; my deserved respect and “praise and worship” for
them.
- Monday, 9/23/18 Psalm
103:18, To such as keep his covenant, and
to those that remember his commandments to do them. Many who read my daily
posts have a heart that wants to please God. What can you and I do so as to
increase the number of times that we think about the Bible during our day? This
could be a crucial question to answer. There are a few people reading this
who need to STOP BEING SO NICE!!! 2 John 10-11, If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him
not into your house, neither bid him God speed: for he that biddeth him God
speed is partaker of his evil deeds. Don’t be afraid to stand up AGAINST
someone; don’t let them babble on and continue in their bad doctrine. Yes, be
tactful, but stand for truth. Don’t let your coworker think that you agree with
their statement that “we’re all going to the same place,” or “All He expects
from us is our best.” Tis better to anger them and get them thinking than to
allow them to go to Hell un-warned.
