The food police have set their sights on Burger King. Under pressure from the aggressive left-wing advocacy group Center for Science in the Public Interest [cspi], the chain has stopped marketing soft drinks with its kids’ meals. According to USA Today, the move was “in response to growing demands by consumers and activists.” Make that “activists pretending to be consumers.” cspi’s director, Margo Wootan, said the change “will help children eat better now, as soda is the leading source of calories in children’s diets.” Let’s see: BK has been pressured to replace Coke (106 calories) with apple juice (120 calories) or low-fat chocolate milk (160 calories). But logic doesn’t matter to cspi. They’re leftists, so their agenda is to ensure that nowhere in America can you “have it your way.”
