Hope in Your End

Jeremiah 31:17

"And there is hope in thine end, saith the LORD, that thy children shall come again to their own border."

Have you ever gone to the end of a book to find out what happened before you read the book? Knowing the end before you read the book can be enjoyable at times. The suspense of getting to the end is great if the book is a good story.

God said in the verse above, "...there is hope in thine end,..." Though Israel faced the judgment of God, He reminded them that joy would be in their end. You can only imagine the despair that many faced when they heard the judgments of God. You can only imagine the feeling of hopelessness many experienced as they were carried into bondage. However, God wanted to remind them that there was hope in their end. Though what they endured in the present was bad, He wanted them to know if they would hang on that the end would get better.

We often face tough times in our daily lives. Sometimes we face tough times because of our own doings, but we must not give up hope, for the end is not yet written. Many times the tough times we face have nothing to do with our actions. As tough as whatever you are facing may be, there is still hope, for your end is not written. It doesn't matter how bad your present may be. You must rest in the hope that your end is not yet written.

Parent, though your child may have made a mess of their life, let me encourage you by telling you that their end is not yet written. Sure, they may have embarrassed you and brought shame to the family name, but the end is not yet written. You may look at your child and hurt for them as you see them continuing down the same hurtful path. It may seem that they will never come back to right, but rest in the hope that the end is not yet written.

Preacher, the end of your ministry is not yet written. Your ministry may seem like a complete failure, but the end is not yet written. You may wonder at times if you made a mistake, and you may even wonder if it would be better to give up and let someone else take your place. Let me encourage you to keep going for the end is not yet written. Until the end is written, you must keep on doing right.

Fallen person, the end of your life is not yet written. So you made a mess of your life and wonder if God could ever use you again. Let me remind you that the end is not yet written. No, you can't undo what you have done in the past, but you may make your past one bad chapter in the midst of many good chapters. Don't give up, rather decide to make the end better than the beginning.

Church, the end is not written in your history. There are many churches that have gone through tremendously tough times, and the members wonder if they should give up and close the doors. Let me encourage you to not quit. Don't let the heartache and tragedy be the last chapter of your church. Get up and decide to make the end better.

Christian, maybe you look at your ministry and life and think it has been a waste. Let me remind you that the end is not yet written. You must keep going and remember that if you do right that the end will get better.

We can all take hope in the fact that the end of Satan has already been written. His days are coming to an end, and he knows it. Therefore, we must take hope that the one who has fought against us and hindered us will one day be cast into Hell forever. So Christian, decide right now that you will take hope in the fact that Satan will be forever destroyed and get up and continue doing right, for your end can be a great ending if you won't quit.
