Bible Thoughts by Terry Hedderman

- Tuesday, 8/28/18  2 Kings 15:3-4a, And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his father Amaziah had done; save that the high places were not removed... Having human examples is good, but be sure to choose ones that push you to excellence and don’t allow you to wallow in mediocrity.

- Tuesday, 8/14/18  1 Kings 12:28, Whereupon the king took counsel, and made two calves of gold, and said unto them, It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem: behold thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. Beware of a religion that is too convenient; one that doesn’t demand much from you.

- Tuesday, 8/7/18  1 Corinthians 12:21, And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. - Tuesday, 7/31/18  “Boy God sure seems to be mad at me!!” (Ever thought something like that? Felt picked on? Ignored?) Hebrews 11:6, But without faith it is impossible to please him... Basically, faith is acting rightly in a difficult situation, so the difficulties ARE a way of pleasing Him, so He’s actually favoring us by afflicting us.

Tuesday, 7/17/18  Matthew 19:20, The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet? Though this man’s problem was pride, he, at least, was not satisfied with being “good enough,” but wanted to be better. Beware of complacency and satisfaction in your level of godliness.

- Tuesday, 7/10/18  Titus 1:13b, Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith... This whole book was written to a preacher. Can you handle it when he obeys this verse? How have you handled it recently? Do you willingly let the preacher stomp on your toes? Do you pray for him?
