God’s Secret to Fulfillment

Genesis 1:31
“And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.”

Mankind is in a constant search for fulfillment. Scores of books have been written to show people how to be fulfilled in life. Seminars are conducted to help people reach fulfillment. Yet, when man has followed all the advice of man, they still find themselves in search of fulfillment.

Filled with God

Ephesians 3:19
“And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.”

We often hear about the importance being filled with the Spirit of God, but rarely, if ever, do we hear about the importance of being filled with the “fullness of God.” If a Christian is filled with God, they would be totally influenced by God-like qualities. The word “fullness” means to be so filled that there is no place vacant.

Lawless and Disobedient

1 Timothy 1:8
“But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;”

In Paul’s discourse with Timothy, he talked about those who had “swerved” from the faith. These disobedient people had gotten caught up “fables and endless genealogies” instead of “godly edifying which is in faith.” Paul made it clear to Timothy that the “law is good.” He revealed that the only reason they didn’t like the law was because they were the ones breaking it. He showed how those who lived according to the Scriptures had no problem with living a holy life that is separated from the world.

Get Control

1 Thessalonians 4:3
“For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:”

If you have ever driven on snowy or icy roads, you understand the importance of staying in control. It doesn’t take much to get out of control and to find yourself sliding along the ice towards a dangerous end. The key to staying in control is to drive under control. The key is not to be overconfident in your ability, but to be cautious and to obey the laws.
