Bible Thoughts by Terry Hedderman

- Tuesday, 2/27/18  Luke 23:26, And as they led him away, they laid hold upon one Simon, a Cyrenian, coming out of the country, and on him they laid the cross, that he might bear it after Jesus. Simon was given another’s burden, and he had to carry it: make it his own. How did he and how are we to do this? Stay close to Christ.

- Tuesday, 2/13/18  Luke 17:12b-13, ...ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off: and they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us. If others have told you or you somehow believe that you’re “unworthy”  or “too dirty” to get close to Christ, you can at least lift up your voice and cry. Do it...today.

- Tuesday, 2/6/18  Proverbs 1:5, A wise man will hear, and will increase learning. Very simply: are you still increasing in learning, or have you plateaued? Could you tell me what you know now that you didn’t last year? In the secular, spiritual, relationship realm? Wisdom is a journey, not a destination.

- Tuesday, 1/9/18  Lamentations 3:23, [His mercies] are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. Eight years ago today, I started sending out these daily Bible texts. A few months later, a second daily thought began going up on Facebook. In 8 years, God has given me about 6000 fresh thoughts: not because I deserve them, not because I’m a “super student” of the Bible, but because He’s good; His book is eternally right and practical, and because I’ve shared what He’s shown. Praise God!!! Pass these thoughts on to anyone who’d like them, and begin sharing your own.

- Tuesday, 12/26/17  Proverbs 21:3, To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. Oftentimes we try to “buy off God” by doing something sacrificial for someone else. He is more pleased by us making ourselves do what we’re supposed to do...like forgive, or love, or speak to, or teach. Just a thought...

- Tuesday, 12/19/17  Psalm 86:5, For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee. A favorite verse... We all enjoy His mercy on us, but do you ever beg that He’d be merciful to others? to those who attack you? Or volunteer to take their chastisement?

- Tuesday, 12/12/17  Would you like to be godly today?  Psalm 68:19, Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefit... OK, go and try to over-bless those in your world today. Be far sweeter, generous, patient, accommodating, forgiving than anyone would expect you to. Go WAAAAY over and above.

- Tuesday, 12/5/17  Psalm 27:13, I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. God’s economy runs on faith. Sometimes we see how things could work and just have to trust that they will. Sometimes we can see zilch, and have to trust that the Lord has a plan.
