The 09/15/13 FBC Hammond bulletin is now up at www.baptist-city.com.
Proverbs 21:17
"He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man: he that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich."
"It's no fun, do I have to do it?" "I don't want to do it because it's not fun."
2 Kings 5:1
"Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honourable, because by him the LORD had given deliverance unto Syria: he was also a mighty man in valour, but he was a leper."
One of the things that I'm glad God did in the Scriptures is
- Taking Pleasure in Infirmities
- Why God Spared Me
- The Weight or Sacrifice of Faith
Three great sermons for the week of 9/08/13 are now up at www.baptist-city.com.
1 Kings 2:12
"Then sat Solomon upon the throne of David his father; and his kingdom was established greatly."
When Solomon became king, it was very important for him to properly establish his throne.
2 Samuel 15:14
"And David said unto all his servants that were with him at Jerusalem, Arise, and let us flee; for we shall not else escape from Absalom: make speed to depart, lest he overtake us suddenly, and bring evil upon us, and smite the city with the edge of the sword."
David faced many battles in his lifetime.
2 Samuel 13:3
"But Amnon had a friend, whose name was Jonadab, the son of Shimeah David's brother: and Jonadab was a very subtil man."
The story of Amnon is a very tragic story.
2 Samuel 2:8
"But Abner the son of Ner, captain of Saul's host, took Ishbosheth the son of Saul, and brought him over to Mahanaim;"
We often tell people, "Don't rush to judgment."

1 Samuel 31:9
"And they cut off his head, and stripped off his armour, and sent into the land of the Philistines round about, to publish it in the house of their idols, and among the people."
One of the tragedies about Saul's fall from grace is that sin won.
