Uncertainty with People

1 Chronicles 12:17

"And David went out to meet them, and answered and said unto them, If ye be come peaceably unto me to help me, mine heart shall be knit unto you: but if ye be come to betray me to mine enemies, seeing there is no wrong in mine hands, the God of our fathers look thereon, and rebuke it."

Knowing whether or not to trust someone is certainly a hard thing to figure out.

Valiant Men

1 Chronicles 5:18

"The sons of Reuben, and the Gadites, and half the tribe of Manasseh, of valiant men, men able to bear buckler and sword, and to shoot with bow, and skilful in war, were four and forty thousand seven hundred and threescore, that went out to the war."

One of the greatest needs of our day is for men to be men.

Jealous for Blessings

2 Samuel 6:12

"And it was told king David, saying, The LORD hath blessed the house of Obededom, and all that pertaineth unto him, because of the ark of God. So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obededom into the city of David with gladness."

For three months David saw how the LORD blessed Obededom's household because of the presence of the Ark of the Covenant.

When Tragedy Hits

1 Samuel 31:7

"And when the men of Israel that were on the other side of the valley, and they that were on the other side Jordan, saw that the men of Israel fled, and that Saul and his sons were dead, they forsook the cities, and fled; and the Philistines came and dwelt in them."

Tragedy is sure to hit everyone at some point in their life.

No Restraint

1 Samuel 14:6

"And Jonathan said to the young man that bare his armour, Come, and let us go over unto the garrison of these uncircumcised: it may be that the LORD will work for us: for there is no restraint to the LORD to save by many or by few."

The children of Israel were holed up in the battle, and it seemed as though there was no way out of defeat against the Philistines.
