Bible Thoughts by Terry Hedderman

- Tuesday, 8/14/18  1 Kings 12:28, Whereupon the king took counsel, and made two calves of gold, and said unto them, It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem: behold thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. Beware of a religion that is too convenient; one that doesn’t demand much from you.

- Tuesday, 8/7/18  1 Corinthians 12:21, And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. Very simply: how tolerant are you of other, different parts of the Lord’s body (the local church)? It’s not about you or me; it’s about US, together, serving HIM.

- Tuesday, 7/31/18  “Boy God sure seems to be mad at me!!” (Ever thought something like that? Felt picked on? Ignored?) Hebrews 11:6, But without faith it is impossible to please him... Basically, faith is acting rightly in a difficult situation, so the difficulties ARE a way of pleasing Him, so He’s actually favoring us by afflicting us.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18   But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.   For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.   For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:   Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.   Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

My brother, Carl W. Christensen went home to Heaven this morning. It is ok to sorrow, but not as the unsaved, we have hope and will see him again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank God for Jesus and the Resurrection!
