Bible Thoughts by Terry Hedderman

- Tuesday, 1/24/17  Jeremiah 5:25, Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good things from you. The statement was true 2700 years ago, and it is true today. Let it go. Confess and forsake it.                For all of you who hate harsh, direct preaching, see what God told Jeremiah his preaching was to be like.  Jeremiah 5:14, Wherefore thus saith the Lord God of hosts, Because ye speak this word, behold, I will make my words in thy mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them.

Bible Thoughts by Terry Hedderman

- Tuesday, 1/17/17  Proverbs 9:5, Come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine which I have mingled. For wisdom to help you, you must make it a part of you. Do you try to actually implement what you hear in SS and church? If you had to tell me, could you tell me what you’re “digesting” now?

Environmental wackos

Electric Shock

The sound you hear is the sobbing of duped Prius owners. According to Green Car Congress, a new study published in Atmospheric Environment — yes, you guessed it, one of my favorite journals —found that total emissions from electric vehicles equal emissions from internal combustion vehicles. For those of you in Rio Linda, that means electric cars aren’t any “cleaner” than gasoline-burners. Your Prius isn’t “saving the planet.” For once, this research team added in all the real-life pollution “costs” — they factored in the additional weight of electric vehicles, tire wear, brake wear, road wear, and road dust. Turns out, the electric cars generate more pollutants from road dust and road wear than cars that run on eeeevil gasoline, which balances out other factors. And these researchers didn’t even calculate for the source of the electricity that powers electric cars: fossil fuels. But don’t hold your breath that libs will ever ditch their Leaf or Volt. Snobbery will remain their driving force.
