No More That Way

Deuteronomy 17:16
“But he shall not multiply horses to himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt, to the end that he should multiply horses: forasmuch as the LORD hath said unto you, Ye shall henceforth return no more that way.”

God knew there would come a day when Israel would no longer be a theocracy. He knew the day would come when they chose a king to lead them, and that this decision would be the first step towards their demise. The reason they would want a king is because all the nations around them had one, and because they wanted to be like all the other nations they too would choose a king.

Bible Thoughts by Terry Hedderman

Sunday, 5/31/15  Ps 106:1 Praise ye the Lord. O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth forever. Just a reminder that obedience to this verse isn’t dependent upon your health or wealth, marital status, the weather, or your feelings. Praise God and give thanks...PERIOD. NOW. ALWAYS.                      Jud 10:13-14 Yet ye have forsaken me, and served other gods: wherefore I will deliver you no more. Go and cry unto the gods which ye have chosen; let them deliver you in the time of your tribulation. You’ll look really funny praying to your gods of pleasure and money and hedonism when calamity hits, and you’ll wish you would’ve developed a love for the true God. Just sayin’...

The Oil Stayed

2 Kings 4:6

"And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed."

Two stories are very similar, but they both have very different outcomes. Each story had a man of God. Each story had a widow who was in great need. In each story the widow had some oil, but the outcome of the oil was very different.

Heart Problems

Mark 3:5

"And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other."

The heart is the core of every problem. If a person has a heart problem, then their bad heart risks not only the quality of their life, but their life as well. You cannot continually have heart problems without it eventually taking your life. The Word of God shows us three types of heart problems that will hurt the Christian's life.

"For Obama to run around and say that he's restored America to the most respected country on earth is no different than saying he's made Baltimore the safest city on earth, and that he's lowered health care costs dramatically across the board.  This is delusional." -Rush

Called Out Unto

1 Kings 8:53

"For thou didst separate them from among all the people of the earth, to be thine inheritance, as thou spakest by the hand of Moses thy servant, when thou broughtest our fathers out of Egypt, O Lord GOD."

The best day of my life was June 21, 1973. It was a Thursday evening, my father was out soul winning and my mom sat my siblings and I down for family devotions before  we went to bed. After devotions and family prayer, I went to my mother and asked her how I could go to Heaven. After sending my brother and sisters to bed, she opened the Scriptures and showed me how to be born again. That night, I knelt beside our couch and received Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour. This was the greatest day of my life because my destination went from Hell to Heaven. My relationship with God changed from being lost to being a child of God.

Sunday, 5/24/15  Matt 25:15 And unto one he gave 5 talents, to another 2, and to another 1; to every man according to his several ability... A reminder that your beauty, brain, and ‘bilities are all gifts from God. You have no right for any proudful boasting. Even the strength to use them comes from Him. So...step off of the stage: you’re not the star. The spotlight belongs to Christ.             1 Sam 26:19 If the Lord have stirred thee up against me, let him accept an offering: but if they be the children of men, cursed by they before the Lord; for they have driven me out this day from abiding in the inheritance of the Lord, saying, Go serve other gods. Those of you actively persecuting, or hating, or gossiping about another...if you succeed in driving that person away from God...think of the souls that won’t get saved, the family that’ll get discouraged, the Sunday School classes that won’t be taught...will you want to see what you accomplished in eternity. Encourage people.
